A US passport photo must be 2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm) — 602 × 602 px at 300 DPI — with a head height of 25–35 mm (1–1.375 in) from chin to crown, on a white or off-white background, taken within the last 6 months. For online applications the digital photo must be 600–1200 × 600–1200 px, maximum 10 MB.
A US visa photo must be 2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm) — 602 × 602 px at 300 DPI — with a head height of 25–35 mm (1–1.375 in) from chin to crown, on a white or off-white background, taken within the last 6 months. For online applications the digital photo must be 600–1200 × 600–1200 px, maximum 240 KB.
